Vinted Shoppers Share Displeasure Over Size Modifications
Shoppers are voicing their frustration due to a modification that led to listings displaying inaccurate size information.
The second-hand shopping app has revised its sizing categories for female and kids' apparel without notifying every member regarding the update.
Social Media Backlash
Countless users and merchants are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration.
The company said the new system was more in line with similar services.
The platform has recommended to examine their items and manually change the size where appropriate, causing user dissatisfaction.
Measurement Approach Changes
Previously, the sizing featured one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10.
The revised method features an alphabetical indicator and numerical range like S/UK 8-10.
In some cases, the sizing has been recategorised - for example a size L was previously a 12 but is now a UK 16-18.

Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".
"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.
Stephanie Gallen, from Glasgow, explained products she uploaded featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22.
"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she explained.
Necessary Adjustments
Charlotte Lunn, based in Derby, explained she became annoyed due to the update requiring manual adjustment the measurements for "each individual item".
"For me this is particularly frustrating, as I'm chronically ill and Vinted sales have been crucial after experiencing income reduction," she stated.
Service Background
The platform boasts over 100 million users, including 18 million in the UK.
It has proved a popular alternative versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.
This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change within the service has received backlash: previously, Vinted reversed a change to its shipping options due to shopper criticism.
